My name is John Hicks, and I am an attorney with over 10 years of experience serving Bexar and Travis counties. At The Hicks Law Firm, I take the time to learn about each client’s unique needs before developing a personalized strategy to help them with their family law, criminal defense, estate planning or probate concerns.

I pride myself on my creativity when it comes to developing a plan to resolve criminal defense and family law cases in a swift and effective manner. To help me do this, I have earned a certification in mediation, which provides me with the resources necessary to resolve legal matters outside the courtroom.
I use my strong ability to relate to my clients to place myself in their shoes and motivate myself to pursue the outcomes they deserve in their cases. I use my previous experience as a Marine and my current experience as an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) worker and firefighter to help me make the critical decisions that come in my line of work as an attorney.

Phillip Strauch III (Paralegal)
Philip is (thankfully) a lifetime Texan and has been in the San Antonio legal community since 1994. A graduate of the University Of Texas at San Antonio Paralegal Program, he is also a member of the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division. Philip is also a member of the Child Advocate San Antonio program. When not assisting clients with their family law matters, Philip enjoys archery, wade fishing for redfish, teaching self-defense, reading, songwriting and playing with his four-legged children Woodrow, Otis and Lobo. Philip can be seen and heard playing live music at various locations in the Central Texas area and continues to work towards becoming Board Certified in Family Law.
